Artificial insemination is carried out in the following cases:

  • Reduced sperm function
  • Immune reaction to sperm
  • Cervix failure
  • No discernable cause of infertility

Insemination

During insemination, the prepared semen sample is inserted into the uterine cavity by a thin sterile catheter. This procedure is carried out on the day of ovulation, in the case of reduced sperm quality, a negative postcoital test and/or anomalies of the cervix.

Pregnancy rates per Insemination cycle are 10-15% according to international statistics.

A special form of insemination is made with the use of frozen donor sperm. This procedure is not covered by health insurance and is carried out when there is absolute sterility in the male partner. You will be advised thoroughly on the legal situation regarding the use of donor sperm prior to commencement of treatment.
