The aim of fertility treatment is the determination of the exact time of ovulation, as well as the stimulation of egg cell maturation. We monitor the follicles by ultrasound and often take a blood test to determine cycle-related hormone levels. Hormone levels are measured inside the hormone laboratory.
Cycle monitoring can be carried out in a spontaneous or stimulated cycle (through the administration of pills or hormone injections). Drug therapy with injections over a period of 1-2 weeks is a prerequisite for some forms of treatment such as IVF (in-vitro fertilisation) and ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection).
In the case of suspected fallopian tube impairment, we examine womb and fallopian tubes by ultrasound, as well as x-ray. An anaesthetic is not required. If necessary, we also examine the reproductive organs using palpitation and laparoscopy or hysteroscopy.
Appropriate treatment is initiated depending on whether hormonal causes, malformation of the fallopian tubes or uterus, cervix mucus insufficiency or endometriosis are the cause of infertility.
